This is a one of a kind, handmade original art book, that I have created!
This listing is for one of my handmade art books that I have created. I create my books to be a piece of art in itself, but also if you choose to, it allows you to add or record your special memories, words, images, drawings, etc.
I have incorporated vintage fabric pieces that came from my travels overseas and within the U.S. and modern fabric pieces in this book. Different weights and sizes of watercolor papers, eco-dyed papers, images, words, recycled materials, stitching, charcoal, paints, inks and words are used to further enhance this beauty.
I have added one of my handmade clay birds to this book, along with one of my handmade metal bezels that I have created and applied patina to.
Please note; the page that has the image of the tree on a piece of clay is a photography (not an actual piece) of one of my previous book covers that I had printed on photo paper and incorporated into this book. I love working with images that create an effect of drawing you in, as if it was an actual piece in itself.
There are a total of 19 pages of various paper sizes within this book and if you count the back sides that would make a total of 38 sides/surfaces that have been altered with images, various papers, inks, paints, etc.
I have created a book that allows you to jump right into it and leave your message, sketch, drawings, journaling or use it as a scrapbook to record that special event/day.
Many of my customers leave my books as a piece of art within itself. Use it as a display piece/conversational piece, which I think is awesome. Regardless as to how choose to use this book, it will be a piece that will have you revisiting it time and again.
This book itself measures roughly, 10" L x " 4 3/4 W.
This book was a challenge to photograph. Some areas may appear a slight lighter or darker, depending on your monitor.
I do my upmost best, to represent my photos to the best of my ability to actual color of the item. Please be aware that colors may vary slightly due to your monitor/phone/tablet screen. They may come across as appearing, a little lighter, darker or can come across more intense colors, etc depending on your monitor or device that you are viewing this from.
PLEASE NOTE I make my books to be sturdy, but please keep in mind that I am using old, vintage, tattered or recycled pieces in my art. Many of the pages, book covers or fabrics are old and tattered and may continued to deteriorate, so it still needs to be handled with care. Just a reminder again, that the delicate old vintage fabrics on the cover of this book, needs to be handled with extra care.
Whether you keep this beauty for yourself or give it away as a gift, it will be a piece that will be treasured for years.
